I started taking photos of the James A Farley Bridge in Stony Point, 9W Bridge Construction Site on April 30th, 2009-- the day of the  Bridge Implosion.

As an artist and photographer, I see beauty and 'art' in everyday life.
My goal was to document this construction project from an "artistic" point of view.

My goal was to capture the interesting activities, workers, equipment, colors, textures, patterns and unique compositions at this site.

Most of these shots were shot through the small openings in a chain link fence that surrounds the site.  This limits access and composition opportunities, but presents an interesting and unique challenge for getting shots that are interesting and well composed.

During the course of the construction, I took hundreds of photos. Here are just a few of my favorite photos from this collection.

I hope you will enjoy this photo-gallery of a small part of Rockland County and
Stony Point History.

Construction Site and On-Location Documentary Photography
Once upon a time there was an old bridge on Route 9W in Stony Point, NY... then one day that bridge was imploded
and a new bridge was built to take it's place...
Below is a slide show of some of the photos taken from
the Bridge Implosion up until the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

Update:

Congratulations to the Construction Team
for the completion
of the new
Stony Point Bridge.
You did a fantastic job in record time!
It 's beautiful!

Most of these photos were taken from April, 2009 thru October, 2010.
The Stony Point Bridge was opened
to the public and to traffic in October, 12, 2010.
However, additional cosmetic work was still being done after the opening. I photographed a few shots of the completed bridge in January, and will upload more completed bridge photos very soon.
